January 16th, 2020 by

Are you looking for a hybrid SUV that is environmentally conscious but you don’t want to compromise on luxury? Look no further, the 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, our newest plug-in SUV Hybrid is coming.

Drive Differently

The all-new 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring looks similar to the rest of the Corsair line up and is the second Lincoln SUV to unveil as a hybrid, the first being the 2020 Aviator. This model will have up to seven different driving modes, including their usual modes, normal, conserve, slippery, and deep conditions. However, an additional two modes will be offered: Preserve EV and Pure EV.

How It Stacks Up To Competitors

In terms of competitors, the Corsair will compete with other hybrids and plugin hybrids in the luxury compact crossover segment.  Thus, the Lexus UX hybrid and Volvo XC60 T8 will be its most prevalent competitors. This model looks quite similar, almost identical, to other models of the Corsair.  In terms of the luxury landscape, the BMW x3, the Mercedes Benz GLC, and the Volvo XC60 effectively compete with the Corsair. In terms of price, it was almost very similar to that of competitors coming in somewhere around the $50,000 price point.

Twin Powered Engine

Hybrid vehicles are environmentally friendly, as they run on twin powered engines. In 2021 Lincoln Corsair you’ll find a 2 ½L Atkinson Cycle 4 cylinder engine paired with a 14.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The battery integrated into the Corsair will give you 40.2 kilometres worth of travel. This battery will support both level 1 and level 2 charging. Using a level 1 charger will take an estimated 10 or 11 hours to fully charge the battery.  Using a level 2 charger, you can be fully charged and back on the road in just 3 hours.

Advantages of Hybrid Cars

A hybrid vehicle is a great way to segue into an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Hybrids not only run cleaner but also result in reduced gas mileage, as the twin powered engine conserves energy whilst decreasing the consumption of fuel used. If you are mainly a city driver, it’s definitely possible given the battery integrated into the Corsair, that you could drive entirely on an electric motor.

Another obvious benefit of a hybrid is that it contributes to using fewer fuels to run which results in fewer emissions and subsequently a decrease in the use of fossil fuels. If you’re looking to decrease your carbon footprint, this hybrid could be the perfect option for you.

Conclusion

The Corsair is set to be available for order in the spring of 2020, so this is definitely a vehicle that you’ll want to keep on your radar in the new year. It’s style, class, and luxury make this a hybrid that’s worth the wait.
